Human Resources is strategically implementing BRT strategies for HR/Payroll. Creating one HR organization for the ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ¹Ù·½ is underway. Strategy implementation has included the development and announcement of system wide policies. HR BRT strategies will continue to be implemented to effectively address the the organizational needs of the ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ¹Ù·½. Review and implementation of HR organization structure and service delivery, benefits and leave are currently in progress.
Employees have been notified that the two leave-related cost-reduction strategies recommended by the Human Resources BRT – discontinuing the ¼ sick-leave payout for office and service employees, and lowering the maximum vacation cap – will not be implemented before 2019. This will allow time for continued review of the timing and approach of these strategies as well as a more comprehensive review of the university’s benefits plan as recommended by the HR BRT.
We anticipate approximately $4 million in cost savings through the following strategies developed by the Human Resources BRT team. These strategies have been approved by the President and Chancellors. HR BRT strategies include organization structure, benefits, policy, and leave. These strategies are intended to be leveraged in lieu of employee layoffs. Human Resources organizational changes will strengthen the University through combined resources.
